Our Building was built in 1885 by Conrad Wiesler. The Wieslers’ moved up to Cedarburg shortly after the Chicago Fire. Conrad along with his family built several of the buildings in Cedarburg. Our building was a bar and general store along with living quarters for the family above. The Wiesler family also built a dentist office, hotel, and several other buildings around town.
Over the years this building has hosted several different businesses. You may know some such as “Mainstreet,” “Lost Dutchman,” and “Schultz’s.”
Mike took over the building in 1988 and opened “C. Wieslers” as we all know and love it today. Mike had some help from his good friend Randy (who owns and runs a bar in Port Washington) when first opening. Throughout the years Mike has worked tirelessly to improve on his business. Today, Mike manages his restaurant and gets the help from his wife, and both of his children making it truly a family business. His three grandsons also frequently try to assist in customer service by greeting customers.
